We invite you to visit our inn for a cozy cottage getaway in Culpeper, VA. See what some of our guests have said about us below!

This wonderful B&B features a 2-bedroom cottage, which is where we stayed. The cottage was tidy, comfortable (including great central AC on a hot August day!), with a full kitchen, a little reading den, a porch for enjoying cool evenings. The pool is good for a leisurely dip and is right next to a pretty butterfly garden. Other gardens on the grounds provide much of the produce for the fine meals served here. The breakfasts are lovely, and the Chef's Table option for dinner provides a 3-course meal that's an amazing mix of flavors. The proprietors are lovely and friendly, and provided welcome tips on local sites to visit.

My fiancee and I took advantage of a Specialicious deal for two nights at the Hazel River Inn, and boy, were we glad we did! It was a weekend getaway for just the two of us, and Karen and Peter were wonderful hosts. We had dinner at the inn the night we arrived, and everything was delicious. Everything that comes out of their kitchen is wonderfully fresh and original. Even the jams and jellies served with breakfast was homemade and delicious. The breakfasts were delightful, and Peter was more than happy to share his sausage recipe with me! Our room was cozy, clean, and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

It's like going to your sister's place... your favorite sister. The one you can talk to and who is interesting and interested! But, this "sister" is married to a world class chef, Peter! Together they run the friendliest, homiest, most comfortable B&B in Culpeper environs. The breakfasts are amazing. The well water is excellent! Go and enjoy! Oh! Their restaurants are fabulous, too! GO!

My wife & I needed a break after a hectic month and right on queue Specialicious came through with a nice promotion for the Hazel River Inn. The most impressive feature of the Inn is the Innkeepers themselves. Karen & Peter are gracious hosts and could not have been more accommodating. The Inn has a main house and a separate cottage. It was available at a reasonable upcharge so we opted for the cottage - a small 2 bedroom home with a full kitchen, 2 baths, a living room, dining room and a small study (try the massaging lounge chair!), flat screen TV, etc. A 30 second walk to the main house in the morning and you are provided with a gourmet country breakfast prepared by Peter, an internationally experienced chef. See if Karen has made any violet, dandelion, beet or lemon jelly - delicious on the homemade scones! We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing country atmosphere. A bit too early in the year for the pool but it looked very nice. This is no chain hotel or inn - you are in the country as evidenced by the fresh eggs that come from the coop near the house. We plan to get back to the Inn in the fall - maybe catch the fall colors and enjoy more of Karen & Peter's southern hospitality.

Karen and Peter are amazing hosts! The love and care they show their guests is unparalleled. They were sweet enough to upgrade us to the delightful cottage...it was wonderful to have the room of the cottage to spread out and really relax and unwind after several stressful months with a family illness. The cottage is lovingly cared for. A very special and delightful feature is the massage chair! Which we really enjoyed! Cable TV and a DVD player are lovely additions too! There’s also a handicapped accessible shower! Breakfast at the B&B are hearty and healthy and last you the better part of the day. The grounds are lovely and we want to return to use to pool. Watching the sunset across the mountain every day was blissful as were viewing the stars from the front porch at night.
